Ingersoll watches for everyone

The founders of the American watch manufacturer Robert and Charles Ingersoll are regarded as pioneers in the development of inexpensive wristwatches. Early on, they had the desire to make high-quality wristwatches affordable for everyone. With the help of their companion Henry Ford, they were able to establish efficient automated production and thus enable unbeatable sales prices. The pocket watch "Yankee", which came onto the market in 1896, became famous all over the world. It became known under the name "Dollar Watch" because it cost only one US dollar, which at that time corresponded to a daily wage. 20 million pieces went over the counter within 20 years. Ingersoll watches had early prominent fans such as James Dean, Theodore Roosevelt and Thomas A. Edison. Until today the watches of the traditional brand are popular companions for the wrist.
